谷歌CEO:明年将参加700MHz无线频谱拍卖会

    11月12日消息，据外电报道，谷歌首席执行官埃里克-施密特(Eric Schmidt)称，谷歌将参加即将举行的700MHz频谱的拍卖。
    
    《福布斯》发表的一篇文章引述谷歌首席执行官施密特的话说，谷歌肯定要参加明年1月举行的700MHz无线频谱拍卖。这是首次披露谷歌要参加频谱拍卖的消息。这篇文章还说，谷歌表示它会向任何为付钱的用户开放这个频谱，挑战美国联邦通讯委员会对谷歌关于开放网络请求的妥协立场。谷歌原来曾表示要用将近50亿美元的资金竞价购买这个频谱的许可证。
    
    由于施密特和谷歌共同创始人拉里-佩奇（Larry Page ）在谷歌财年第三季度财务报告的电话会议上都表示要退出频谱拍卖，因此，这个消息是特别有趣的。
    
    有传言称谷歌可能与WiMax新兴企业Clearwire建立合作伙伴关系，因此这个消息也许是可信的。一些博客甚至称，消费者需要谷歌，无线运营商也需要谷歌的Android平台或者gPhone手机。
