虽然比“7系”前辈7650小了一辈，但紧随7650步伐上市的诺基亚3650的外形与功能在当时都吸引了不少人的关注。在郑伊健与赵薇联袂主演的电影《绿茶》中惊艳登场的3650，圆形底部造型与圆形键盘让无数人记住了它。而作为国内Symbian OS 6.1 Series 60 第一版的第二款机型，它支持MMC卡扩展，很好的解决了前代的内存问题，从而让无限时摄像（需安装软件，直到把扩展卡拍满为止）成为可能。
