不过轻薄小巧的代价就是手机的屏幕尺寸不能够做得更大。因此这次索爱W880在手机屏幕的配置上虽然没有延续以往索爱W800的标准，而是使用了QVGA（320×240像素）分辨率的26万色TFT屏幕。但只有1.8英寸的屏幕尺寸还是受到了不少消费者的诟病。实际上，从真机来看。其实索爱完全可以将W880的屏幕做到2英寸左右，也许是基于成本或是其他方面的考虑，索爱选择小尺寸和高分辨率的细腻显示效果作为特色。

　　由于在网络方面，支持GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 MHz和 UMTS网络（有消息称还将可能支持HSDPA）因此为了实现双向视频通话功能，因此索爱也配备了一个视频镜头，并且在设计上也如索爱K800那样在将副镜头与听筒整合在一起。当然，对于同步问世的中文版本W888c也将取消这个设计。
