在机身的背面，我们看到了两者都是采用了500万像素的卡尔蔡司镜头，不过N85设计了镜头保护盖，而N96则是裸露在外，至于手机的主要拍摄功能方面，两款手机并没有体现多少差异。同样支持自动聚焦、20倍数码变焦，支持白平衡、曝光补偿及场景模式设置等功能，也可以录制30fps的VGA分辨率视频拍摄功能，并且能够借助GPS功能实现“照片地理标记”功能。但是其实两个镜头的焦距并不相同，N85为5.45，N96则是5.2，也就是N96的镜头视角要更广阔一些。
