ATHLETE机器人的腿可以延伸,因此宇航员可以利用它把居留地从月球车的顶部移到月球表面。月球车的装货区高大约是6米。但是经过特殊设计的起重机也能用于卸货。这种拆卸方案涉及到的起重机,可用来把一个居留地模块从月球车上卸下来,并把它放在多腿ATHLETE机器人上。第二个起重机负责把阻隔室放到月面上。
