    3、有性繁殖更利于生命延续

    尽管雄性要花费大量的时间和精力去寻找和讨好配偶，但科学家还是有许多理论来解释为何许多动物包括人类要进行有性繁殖。今年的一项研究表明，有性繁殖能够使基因更加迅速地重组，产生新的变异，让自然选择更好地淘汰具有有害基因变异的个体，从而让物种在新的环境中带来更大的优势，能更快地适应环境的变化。

    有性繁殖是如何出现的仍是生物学中最大的谜团之一。在性出现之前，生物通过无性繁殖也能够很好地生存繁衍，并不需要其它同类的帮助。这样的现象在今天的植物界中仍然常见，如海绵和海葵，扁形虫等低等动物都是无性繁殖。但后来就有了性。人类何以能够延续至今，性可能就是答案。尽管交配过程耗费了大量的能量和时间，但是交配给物种的进化和延续带来了希望。
