    他与犹太人的关系是他生活中最强大的联结，即使他不拥挤宗教仪式。爱因斯坦的父母都是犹太人。因为他是犹太人，因而被德国纳粹分子列为重要的迫害对象，幸而他1932年底离开德国到美国讲学，才未遭毒手。他反对法西斯灭绝犹太人的暴行，为争取犹太人的生存权利而大声疾呼。但他也反对狭隘的犹太民族主义，希望看到犹太人“同阿拉伯人在和平共处的基础上达成公平合理的协议，而不希望创立一个犹太国”。
