美航天局欲在全球征集月球挖土机设计方案(图)

    美国航天局有关月球的想象图

    近日，美国航天局对外正式宣布，它在全球范围内开始征集人类重返月球后在月球表面进行工程施工的挖土机设计方案。


    据俄罗斯纽带新闻网9月21日报道，美国航天局负责重返月球项目的工作人员说，该局已经为此次征集月球挖土机设计方案活动设立了专项奖金，如果谁的设计方案最终被采用的话，那么他将获得25万美元的奖励。美国航天技术专家在对受到的所有设计方案进行评估后，将于2006年底或2007年初公布最终采纳的设计方案结果。

    报道说，月球表面覆盖的是一层名叫洛格里特的物质(月球物质术语)，它形似地球表面的粉状矿物质。根据目前科学家已经掌握的资料，洛格里特物质层下埋藏着丰富的氦-3元素。在氦-3元素的参与下，人类利用原子热核聚变反应技术能制造出清洁能源。美国重返月球后的一项重要任务就是在那里建造生产基地，用月球挖土机开采出氦-3元素并把其运回地球制造新能源。

    在宣布征集月球挖土机设计方案之前，美国航天局已经举办过类似活动。在上一次活动中，该局曾向全球征集过从洛格里特物质中分离出氧气的技术方法。(来源：国际在线)
